Fiona's journey into running began with Jog Scotland 13 plus years ago. It’s a brilliant initiative and starting point for people of all ages, shapes & sizes to be introduced to jogging. My main incentive at that time was to get fit and meet new friends and I have done just that. These two simple goals have introduced me to wonderful like minded and inspiring people.
I have many highs to my running over the last 13 years for various reasons but one of my top highlights has still to be my first 10k of jogging/running under the hour. From that first night at Jog Scotland thinking that 1 mile was going to be an achievement in itself never mind a 10k race!
I train six days a week and am continually looking at ways to improve my training! Having a routine or structure to my training is important for me but I am always open to advice/suggestions on change to this in order to keep me motivated and continue to aim for all my goals. With a new age category coming up in April had been speaking to one of my running friends recently about where I felt there was improvements to be made and nutrition was mentioned. This is something over the years I have felt that perhaps I have not managed to get completely right. Therefore really excited about incorporating Elivar nutrition into my training and reporting back on my progress!
I run because I enjoy it – it’s not what other people can achieve as you cannot control that! What matters is that you can achieve what you have set out to do as an individual!
