Christine started her athletic career as a middle distance runner. Her talents earned her an athletic scholarship to Boston University where she qualified for the NCAA championships on two separate occasions. As an accidental triathlete an injury forced Christine to temporarily give up running. At that time she started swimming and cycling and can proudly say she learned proper swimming techniques at the ripe age of 35. In 2011 Christine got back into training and after three months of hard work she qualified for the World Championships. Training twice a day and anywhere from 10-14 hours a week Christine takes every 10th day as a rest day.
This year Christine plans to run the Paris and Boston Marathons in April. She plan to compete in the Long Course Weekend in July – to “settle some old scores with the course”. With one eye on the future, Christine also intends competing in the qualifiers for the European Sprint Triathlon Championships and European Standard Distance Triathlon Championships.
