Julian Rider MTB & Road Endurance Cyclist

Julian took up mountain biking in earnest at the age of 40. Living in Cannock Chase meant some of the UK's best MTB country was right on his doorstep, it would have been rude not to.

Riding single speed MTB Julian started the sport in earnest at the age of 40. Mountain Mayham and the Bontager 24 Hour followed and pretty soon Julian was riding his single speed through the field to claim podium places in a number of 24 Hour events culminating in Gold at the World 24 Hour Vets MTB in Scotland.

Julian has also turned his attention to the road where his endurance capacity over 24 Hours continues to serve him well. Elivar fuels the journey.

This Year

This year the primary goal is the Revolve24 event at Brands Hatch in September, with various competitions along the way to ensure pole position. Julian will be riding solo at Brand Hatch where he is the current record holder. Longer term goals include the Race Across America (RAAM) and the Haute Route event series.

3rd at my very first 24 hr MTB race at Mountain Mayhem on a single speed bike with princess Ann giving the award
2nd at Bontrager 24 Hour MTB on a single speed bike
Gold medal at the Worlds 24 Hour Vet MTB in Scotland against 23 countries finishing higher than most of the age cat.
Getting sick of the mud and turning to the road to hold the record around Brands Hatch 24 Hour (425 miles with 39000 ft - that's Everest and Kilimanjaro in one spin)
