Dave has a background in teaching sport and outdoor education. He started taking part in fell races in the Peak District in 2003 and soon became hooked. He found that a bit of structured training paid dividends and was soon winning age category races.
Three years ago he gave up teaching and set up as a running coach and guide. This lets him spend more time doing what he loves and helping others get more from the sport.
Dave also helps organise races, tests running kit and blogs about his fell running experiences.
This Year
Dave started the year well by winning his age category in the first British Championship fell race in Northern Ireland. He also completed the Bob Graham Round (a 66 mile, 27,000ft circuit of 42 of the highest peaks in the English Lake District) to finish the “Big 3” having previously completed the Paddy Buckley and Charlie Ramsay Rounds, all within 24 hours..
