Emilie was previously part of the "Orbea-For Goodness Shakes" cycling team which won silver at the 2010 Elite National Track Championships in the team pursuit. She moved on to rowing where she won gold at Henley Masters Regatta and at the World Masters in Italy. Following that she learned how to ice skate (as you do) and competed in the British Longtrack Speed Skating Championships in Holland where she took bronze in the women's 3,000m.
Why the variety? Emilie just enjoys the challenge of taking up a new sport and seeing how her body responds to the different training. Having now been involved in competitive national and international sport for over 10 years, Emilie understands that her body and training needs have changed as time passes, and specifically how her recovery needs have changed over time.
Having said all that, regardless of the sport, Race Day is where it's at for Emilie - the day she most looks forward to - where she can put all of that hard work to the test!
