Riding the route of the Giro D'Italia would be a challenge for most normal cyclists. 3,400 km over 21 stages between the 5th-28th May. But what if you were 77 years old? Well, meet Mick Ives.
Mick (77) is a former professional racing cyclists from Coventry. He has been the UCI World Masters Cycling Champion eight times, British national cycling champion 79 times (with 5 championships won in 2007). He was at one time, the manager of the Great Britain cycling team, and the National Coach, and is the winner of over 1,000 races.
Mick is riding the Giro to raise funds for four charities, Bernados, Rainbow Children’s Hospice, Padraic Sweeney Kidney Research and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice

Mick has some history with the Grand Tour routes. Back in 2005 when he was "only 65" Mick became the first "pensioner" to complete the full route of the Tour de France and is currently the only rider in the world - of any age - to complete the route solo. Follow Mick here.
