Marc Newman has become the first person to swim from Dungeness, Kent to France, completing the crossing in an amazing 16 hours and 9 minutes. This route is 5 miles longer than the traditional 21 mile Dover-Calais route and while it has been attempted in the past Marc has become the first person to successfully complete the crossing.
